Mary Susan Stults

Mary Susan Stults Sassone brings a lifelong commitment to community service, wellness, and helping others thrive. Raised in Cedar City, Utah, with a deep love for nature and community, she later made Colorado home for nearly 20 years before relocating to Kauaʻi in 2018. Her personal and professional path has been shaped by service, leadership, and a strong belief in the power of healthy, connected communities.
Mary Susan has extensive experience in nonprofit service, fundraising, grant writing, education and outreach, event planning, victim advocacy and support, and volunteer leadership. Over the years, she has served a wide range of organizations in both Colorado and Hawaiʻi, including Blue Sky Bridge Child Advocacy Center, Boulder Voices for Children, Boulder Reads, I Have a Dream Foundation, Boulder Habitat for Humanity, Boulder Homeless Shelter, Kauaʻi SurfRider, Wāipa Foundation, Hale Hālāwai ʻOhana O Hanalei, and PAL Hawaiʻi, where she has also served as a Pōhai Ambassador. She currently teaches weekly donation-based community yoga classes at Hale Līhue, is a member of the Zonta Club of Kauaʻi, and is also volunteering as a wellness provider for YWCA Kauaʻi in Līhuʻe.
She graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a BA in English Literature and a certificate in Business and Entrepreneurship Studies. Her professional background includes leadership roles in nonprofit organizing, health and wellness management, and entrepreneurship, and she has founded several wellness-based businesses, including Of the Earth Yoga and Wellness LLC, Float & Flow Yoga and SUP LLC, and Adventure Yoga For Kids LLC. A yoga, meditation, and mindfulness teacher for more than 16 years in the U.S. and internationally, Mary Susan is honored to serve as an Advisor to the Board at PAL Hawaiʻi and to support PAL’s mission of creating more permanently affordable living opportunities for the people of Kauaʻi.
