Kauhale O Namahana will be a new neighborhood of 11 permanently affordable single-family homes, located right across from the Kīlauea Post Office with sweeping mountain and ocean views.

This project is a partnership between PAL Hawai‘i and Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity, combining resources to meet the housing needs of local families. Kaua‘i Habitat will build six homes for households earning 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) or below, offering 2-bedroom/1-bath and 3-bedroom/2-bath layouts. PAL will construct five homes for households earning up to 120% AMI, with options ranging from 2-bedroom/1-bath to 5-bedroom/2-bath to accommodate growing families.

All PAL homes will be placed into our Ho‘omaluhia Community Land Trust, ensuring they remain affordable for generations to come. These homes will be sold leasehold, keeping families rooted in the community while protecting against the pressures of rising housing costs.
