Before joining PAL’s advisory committee, Stephen spent thirteen years leading the growth of Kauaʻi Habitat for Humanity, Inc. (Habitat). In 2007 Habitat had four employees, a million dollar budget and was producing five houses a year. By the end of 2020 Habitat had 25 employees, an 8.5 million dollar budget and was producing 31 houses a year! As the Executive Director, Stephen guided it to be in the top 25 in the nation – out of over 1,400 – on our small, very expensive island with 73,000 residents!

Stephen’s current focus is developing raw land into affordable housing lots and managing the construction of the affordable homes. He is also a member of the Kauaʻi Affordable Housing Alliance (KAHA) with PAL, and he owns Affordable Housing Kauaʻi, LLC.
